In the spring of 2018, Länsförsäkringar Västerbotten moved into new premises at the farthest point of Umeå’s parade street Rådhusesplanaden. Länsförsäkringar Västerbotten is a customer-owned company, it was established 160 years ago making it one of the oldest companies in Västerbotten.
The new building comprises about 9500 m2 and houses almost 200 workplaces. The premises that were previously perceived as narrow and obscure have now been transformed into a welcoming place for both staff and customers.
At the start of the project there was a clear concept from Länsförsäkringar; they wanted both the building and the interior to reflect the county of Västerbotten, which extends from the coastal landscape in the east to the mountain landscape in the west. The building was also to have a rating on Very Good on the environmental certification Breeam.
The architects at LINK managed to create a feeling and atmosphere both in terms of the new building and the interior to reflect both coast and mountain landscapes. This was shown through the choice of materials and color scales.
Senab’s assignment included new workplaces, supplementation of certain existing workplaces as well as logistics coordination, transport, assembly and deployment of furniture.
In order to meet the needs of the staff, a pilot test was conducted where two workplaces were furnished, the staff then evaluated them, based on that, the workplaces were planned.
Senab has after this project also received delivery assignments for Länsförsäkringar’s offices in Skellefteå and Lycksele, both for office furniture and lounge furniture.
It has worked well. Everything has been delivered on time and we have received ordered goods. It has always been easy to get hold of our contact at Senab.
