SEB

Since 2021, we have worked closely with SEB to develop and implement a global interior design concept that reflects the bank's Scandinavian origins and its commitment to sustainability. After several completed SEB offices, including Nice, Shanghai and Frankfurt, it was time for their new office in Malmö to be part of this update in the fall of 2024. A work that in 2024 already includes 41 offices and cities, worldwide.

"When you step into one of our offices abroad, it should almost feel like you're entering Sweden"

- Annika Elmlund, Design Lead at SEB,

Under the leadership of Annika Elmlund, Design Lead at SEB, Senab has tailored solutions to meet the specific needs of Malmö. This has included a careful selection of Scandinavian sustainable and aesthetically cohesive materials and furniture, with the aim of creating a solid feel that is both inviting to the bank's customers and a pleasant working environment for their employees.

In the heart of Malmö, an area transformed from shipbuilding to a vibrant part of the city, SEB has opened its new office, after 125 years on Östergatan on the other side of the Malmö Canal. There is now room for about 200 employees and their need for different workspaces, personal meetings with customers, confidential conversations both physically and digitally, the possibility of banking events with up to 150 guests, a generous dining room and other representation areas.

There are also places for the bank's customers to stay and work after customer meetings if they wish. The office reflects the bank's long history as a strong bank that takes care of you and follows you throughout your life. It is recognized in the room itself, which reflects SEB's values and what they work for - investing in a common future.

"We want people to see each other and run into each other. Unexpected encounters can lead to unexpected solutions, but above all it is the basis for an open climate."

- Annika Elmlund, Design Lead at SEB,

The final result

The new office in Malmö is a modern and dynamic workplace that reflects both SEB's global identity and local Scandinavian heritage.

By combining functional solutions with a warm and welcoming design, SEB and Senab have created an environment where customers and employees can feel both inspired and engaged. This design not only promotes productivity and collaboration, it also creates a strong sense of belonging.
