Because of the major problems we have in today's modern society with excessive consumption, with climate change as a direct result, Knivsta Kommun chose to base the interior design on reuse as much as possible.

In total, about 2700 square meters on 4 floors were renovated with a total of 82% reused furniture.

The project was carried out in close cooperation with the client, the responsible interior designer and an external project manager. The implementation of the concept took place in several stages and a responsive and close dialog between all involved was a prerequisite for carrying out the project, which also took place during normal operation of the office.
FACT BOX
Total CO2 savings 19 237kg CO2
Total reused furniture in the project 82%.
The final result
The result was a new fantastic environment for all employees where responsibility and sustainability focus is reflected in the interior design.
The new interior consists of many products with different backgrounds. Some products have been reused in their existing condition, others have a history from another office somewhere else. Some products have been given a new look, while others have been resized.
Regardless of the background, today this interior design is put together in a fantastic way and constitutes the working environment for the proud employees at Knivsta municipal building.
Senab's commitment does not stop at the end of the delivery, but the project will be summarized from a sustainability perspective where Senab assists with compilations of the climate savings, calculated in CO2, that the project entailed in relation to the purchase of new furnishings.
"We took on this assignment with great humility about the complexity involved. To implement such a major change in the working environment during ongoing operations and also to focus completely on reuse and climate-smart services in a groundbreaking way was of course an exciting challenge!".
Johanna Carlsson, Senab
